Crystal Hops
Crystal hops are a versatile American hop variety developed in 1983 by the USDA through triploid crossing of Hallertau Mittelfrüh, Cascade, Brewer’s Gold, and Early Green. This unique lineage combines European and American hop traits, making Crystal ideal for a wide range of beer styles.

Aroma & Flavor Profile
Crystal delivers a harmonious blend of floral, spicy, and herbal notes with subtle hints of citrus and earthy undertones. Notable for its woodsy, green, and fruity character with spice notes of cinnamon, nutmeg, and black pepper. The essential oil profile is nearly identical to Hallertauer Mittelfrueh, indicating excellent aroma potential.
Beer Styles
Extremely versatile – perfect for German Lagers, Pilsners, ESBs, American Pale Ales, Belgian-style Ales, and even IPAs despite its moderate alpha acid content. Crystal is perceived as the most pungent of the triploid Hallertau family.
