Freshly canned homebrew awaits

We have been busy at Beer Grains this month, and we are excited to share what is new. The big one: you can now can your own beer at the shop.

Homebrew DIY canning, now available

Our new DIY Canning Service is here for local homebrewers. Book a session on our website, bring your keg, and plug into our automated Cannular Filler and Cannular Pro Seamer setup. You run the cans yourself, and we are right there to get you going and help along the way.

The cost is simple: a $20 equipment fee plus $0.55 per 16oz can, which includes a basic black and white label. You pay in store based on how many cans you fill, so your total comes down to how much beer you bring. When you are done you walk out with sharp looking, freshly canned homebrew that is ready for your next gathering, camping trip, or bottle share.

Sessions run during store hours, Thursday and Friday from 12 to 6 and Saturday from 10 to 4. Head to our site, request a timeslot, and we will confirm your booking by email.

Fresher grain, better beer

We also upgraded how we store our grain. Every malt is now kept in new sealed, airtight bins that lock in freshness. From your core base malts to the most niche specialty grains, that means the flavour, aroma, and performance you expect every time you brew.

Thanks for joining our Off-Flavours Workshop

Earlier this month we teamed up with the Ottawa Homebrew Society for an Off-Flavours Workshop at Nita Beer Company. Thanks to everyone who came out to train their palate on the faults that hide in beer and how to avoid them. Keep an eye on our events page for the next one.
